Wayne & Jan Schantzenbach, Family & Executive Marriage
Consultants
Having
both grown up in business families, Wayne and Jan Schantzenbach
have a first-hand appreciation for the special challenges facing
families who choose to work together. Sometimes business families
encounter turbulence such as sustained parent/child conflicts, addictions,
or troublesome sibling dynamics which require specialized assessment
and intervention. Drawing on Wayne’s 28 years’ professional
experience working in family and marital therapy, he provides specialized
insight and guidance through some of the most challenging issues
faced by business families.
Wayne and Jan often work together as a “couple” in
offering educational and coaching services for executive couples
and families. They have a particular passion for guiding executive
couples along the intimate journey toward thriving, enduring and
joyful connection.
In their 35 years of marriage, Wayne and Jan have been through
the ecstasy of romance, the pain of power struggle, and the fulfillment
and joy of forging intimacy and mutuality through effective communication
and successful resolution of conflict. They have learned how to
use the differences between them to complement rather than compete
with each other.
Wayne holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from
Case Western Reserve University. His post-graduate training is in
Family Systems Theory and Psychotherapy from Georgetown University
Medical Center Department of Psychiatry.
For the past eight years Jan, a registered nurse by profession,
has joined Wayne in receiving additional extensive training in marital
relationship dynamics and marital strengthening at the University
of Denver Center for Marital and Family Studies and the Institute
for Imago Relationship Therapy.
The Schantzenbachs are parents of a married daughter and a teenage
son and are also proud grandparents.
