Martin
L. Roark, Family Business Advisor, Next-Generation Learning
Lab Leader
Like many of our Center Associates, Marty Roark grew up in a successful
family business which gives him a first-hand appreciation for the
special challenges facing families who work together. He also brings
more than two decades of executive management experience including
business strategy and systems, management team development, strategic
planning, CEO coaching and manufacturing systems. In addition to
consulting with family businesses, Marty serves as facilitator for
one of the Center's Next-Generation Learning Labs, a peer group
of family business successors.
As a management executive, Marty has successfully implemented
turnaround and growth strategies with private and public companies.
In addition, he has been responsible for the purchase and integration
as well as sale of companies.
Marty was president of FERAG, Inc., a family-owned international
automated systems company based in Switzerland. Prior to that he
was the general manager for SI Systems, Inc. (formerly BT/Volvo
Systems, Inc.), part of SI Handling Systems Group headquartered
in Easton, PA.
Marty earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University
and an MBA from Oakland University. He has been a chapter vice president
and director in the American Production and Inventory Control Society
(APICS) and has CPIM certification from APICS.
