Debra Franke, Career Assessment & Development Consultant
Debra Franke is a Career Assessment & Development Consultant
with over fifteen years experience helping individuals assess their
strengths and make career and life choices. Debra leads The
Next Gen Career Assessment Process which is often the first
step of The Leadership Accelerator.
Debra’s broad-ranging career began with the DuPont Company
as an engineer, but after five years, she realized she didn’t
want to be an environmental engineer! After going through a career
assessment process, she realized she was not a failure as an engineer;
she just was in the wrong kind of work. In line with her newly discovered
“motivated abilities,” Debra made a major career change.
She joined DuPont’s team of internal organizational development
consultants, charged with the responsibility to push decision-making
down, reduce levels of management, and increase team work across
organizational boundaries.
When Debra’s family moved to Great Britain, Debra worked for
three years for the UK office of People Management, a management
consultancy, specializing in assisting organizations in acquiring,
managing, developing and outplacing human resources. She made extensive
use of SIMA®, the System for Identifying Motivated Abilities,
an assessment process which identifies and describes the motivated
strengths of individuals. Since returning to the US, Debra completed
a master’s degree in counseling to support her passion to
provide career counseling to adults in transition.
Debra is a certified Who do you think you are? coach, and
a member of the National Career Development Association and the
Career Planning & Adult Development Network. Debra has a B.S.
in Engineering from Northwestern University, and an M.A. in Counseling
from Biblical Theological Seminary. She lives in Montgomery County,
PA, with her husband, John, and son, J.J.
