"When the rate of external change exceeds the rate of internal change, the end of your business is in sight ..." Jack Welch, Former CEO, General Electric
Meet the Speakers:
Ken Clemmer, President of SynaTek, Souderton, PA and long-term Learning Community Member, and Skip Lange, strategic planning consultant, will share the process and steps which led up to SynaTek's revitalized strategy, improved systems, and realignment of their team to meet the needs of the ever-changing marketplace.
This workshop will be highly interactive and will give participants an opportunity to do some preliminary thinking about their company's strategic direction.
Research has shown that strategic planning is one of three factors most important to long-term family business prosperity. (The other two factors are outside directors and a regular family meeting process.) While family values, loyalty, and commitment to long-term vision provide a powerful competitive advantage, family-owned businesses must compete on the same playing field as all businesses in the global marketplace.
At an earlier Forum in 2006, Ken shared how he transitioned some of the capital and legacy from his 5th generation family business, Moyer & Son, Inc., to create a "new" enterprise, SynaTek, a fertilizer distribution company, in partnership with another family business.
